Video Poker - Aces and Eights

Aces and Eights is a standard version of video poker, in which the player is dealt 5 cards which has to choose whether to keep or exchange. The cards he wishes to discard are replaced with new ones which comprise his final hand. The object of this online video poker game is to obtain a winning hand containing a pair of Jacks or better. The reason why this video poker game is named Aces and Eights is because there is a special payout in the event the video poker player manages to collect four eights, sevens or aces.

Before you can actually start playing the game, you must first insert coins into the video poker machine. Inserting the coins is facilitated with the use of ‘Bet One’ and ‘Bet Max’ buttons that are located at the front of the video poker machine. ‘Bet One’ will increase the number of coins by one, while pressing ‘Bet Max’ will result in the insertion of five. If you have chosen not to be max coin you’ll have to manually press on the ‘Deal’ button in order to receive your cards.

Discarding the cards you wish to replace is performed by pressing on the ‘Hold’ button located at the underneath each card. The ones you have chosen not to hold will be replaced once you are dealt your final hand.
