Poker Players’ Alliance Encourages Writing about Gambling
Poker Players’ Alliance Encourages Writing about Gambling

The Poker Players’ Alliance, a high profile organization, has renewed its offensive attack on the US legislative attempts to make gambling online illegal. In a letter writing campaign that began this week, US Senators are being targeted by an anti-banning sentiment from US citizens and gambling lovers. The 100,000 members that belong to the Alliance were appealed to, and joined in the campaign to their state senators.

PPA president Michael Bolcerek told members that the group must continue to make their voices heard more and more in order to prevent the Senate from passing the Internet Gambling Prohibition and Enforcement Act, which would ban gambling on the Internet, including online poker. It seems that this appeal has gotten through to gambling population of the PPA and is proving to be a strong movement towards calling for the legalization of gambling online.

Bolcerek also makes another point, one of a more political nature. He explained that re-election visits by politicians on the fall recess of Congress also presents a great opportunity for gambling players to make their feelings about a ban known directly to their representatives, some of whom may be considering supporting the ban. He suggests that gambling players could attend town hall meetings, debates where politicians are discussing topical issues, and public forums. In short, Bolcerek is trying to send a clear message to the Senate that gambling online should be legal and regulated by the US.
