Speculation has been rife in the online casino world regarding the replacement for Party Poker head Richard Segal. This week it was announced that Mitchell Garber, will be taking over the lead of Party Gaming online casino group. Garber has much experience in the online casino industry, having made his name as a legal expert in online gaming who helped build a major payment-processing business.
Garber has recently managed to help float and run the payment-processing firm Fire One. He will be assuming his new role on April 19, while Segal is due to vacate position on June 1. The online casino group will be making it well worth Garber’s while. His salary will be $1 million (GBP 570 000) a year and a $6 million payment to cover relocation costs from Canada to Gibraltar and the purchase of share options in Fire One and its parent, Optimal Group. He will also receive 7 million share options in his first year as the online casino’s head and a further 20 million options across years two, three and four, linked to Party Gaming's performance.
Garber is a qualified attorney who brings with him a wealth of experience to the online casino group. He will now be heading Party Gaming, which, founded in 1997, owns and operates Party Poker, the world's largest online casino poker room.
